The Small Print

Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 April 2026

A policy in plain language, for a product that collects almost nothing. We write what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. No dark patterns. No hidden data flows.

1. Who we are

This policy applies to 114 (App Store title: "114 – Read the Quran"), an iOS application published by SUPERSMAIL GmbH, Wilhelm-Hertz-Str. 3, 80805 Munich, Germany.

2. The short version

3. What we collect

3.1 If you sign in (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address. That's it. We do not request any additional profile data. Sign-in exists only to let you sync your reading across devices.

3.2 If you sync

If you enable sync, your bookmarks, reading progress, and any notes are stored on servers operated by Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany (EU region). Without sign-in, this data never leaves your device.

3.3 If you pay for Premium

Subscription payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. We only receive a subscription status token that tells us whether your account is Premium.

3.4 Technical diagnostics

We collect anonymous usage analytics through PostHog Cloud EU to understand how the app is used and where it fails. This does not include anything personally identifying. No advertising identifiers. No location. No contact data. See Section 6 for the full list.

4. What we do NOT collect

5. Why we collect what we collect

Legal basis under GDPR: Article 6(1)(b) — performance of contract — for sync and subscription; Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest — for anonymous analytics.

6. Our analytics events (complete list)

We log the following events through PostHog EU. Each event contains only the properties listed below and an anonymous ID generated on your device. We never associate events with your email or any other identifier:

Event data is retained for 12 months and then automatically deleted.

7. Third-party processors

We have data processing agreements (DPAs) with each processor. We never share your data with advertisers, brokers, or marketing platforms.

8. Your rights (EU/GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. You can exercise all of these rights by emailing privacy@supersmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA).

9. Children

114 is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 beyond what is needed to operate the app, and we do not direct marketing to children.

10. Changes to this policy

Meaningful changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. The current version is always available at read114.com/privacy.
